We work today looking at the technologies of the next decades to offer the new generations a sustainable future.

Services

Our design philosophy revolves around the concept of using a compact footprint to reduce land area and capital costs, and high-speed processing to achieve maximum efficiency. Agro Scientific has four different design approaches to meet your facility’s needs. These are the Aerated Static Pile (ASP) with both above-ground and underground pipes, and the Radial ASP (rASP), which uses automatic telescopic conveyors to load the ventilation zones. Turning and aeration provide the fastest composting. Turned Aerated Pile (TAP), rectangular and Circular Turned Aerated Pile (cTAP) combines Invessel composting technologies with land area requirements that reduce turning and aeration compared to conventional TAP systems. Our design team has the deepest experience in the industry. Agro Scientific can support your civil and mechanical engineers to get the details of your system right the first time.

We design state-of-the-art composting facilities and have been doing so for over twenty-five years. GMT has close to 300,000 tons of compost and organic fertilizer production facility projects per year, which efficiently composts garden waste, food waste, biosolids and agricultural waste collected at the curbside. Our design staff has combined industry experience in the composting industry. Our design services will help you design effective processes for odor and leachate capture and treatment. We also redesign existing facilities to increase capacity or reduce environmental impacts. Twenty-five years from now, we aim to design successful facilities that are still in operation.

Facilities that have been in operation for 5 years or more have discovered clogged ventilation systems and challenges with drainage, corrosion, odor retention and treatment, wastewater treatment and reuse. AgroScientif carries out projects that can overcome these challenges, are unmanned, and are guaranteed to be operational for 25 years. AgroScitentif can also provide equipment sizing, process flow optimization analysis, biofilter and biofilter media design.

The Process of Composting to Produce an Organic Fertilizer
In-vessel composting process
The in-vessel composting process can process large amounts of any type of organic waste without taking up as much space as the windrow method. The organic materials are put into a drum, silo, concrete-lined trench, dryer, crusher, micronizer and similar equipment. The in-vessel composting process is performed with the highest controlling ability of the environmental conditions such as temperature, moisture, pH and airflow. This includes mechanical turning of the material, making sure it is aerated. Due to its size and a total of 12 reactors, 12 dryers, 12 crushers and 12 micronizers, the in-vessel can compost up to 820 tons/day of waste in 3-5 days, depending on the raw material specifics.
Drying Section
The dryer which operates up to 60C, ready to be used without killing the microbial activity. The temperature is controlled by an automated sensor system, making sure that the highest temperature used in the process is 60C. Each module of the drying section has the capacity to process a minimum of 10 tons of product per hour.
Crushing Section
The crushing and mixing of the waste is done, bringing the particles to a certain size in order to obtain a homogeneous mix. Our hammer mills are specially made to reduce the dry and semi-moist materials to plaster within the crusher. They use a central rotating shaft, affixed with several “hammers” on pivots attached to the shaft. As the shaft spins, the hammers are swung via rotational energy, causing them to collide with the material, breaking it up into smaller particles.
Micronizing Section
By tumbling the material in a rotating drum typically with a binder, the fertilizer is made. Organic binders help granules to expand excessively quickly and have a wet and rough surface. They are made up of a polymer binder and a non-inorganic ingredient. As binders are added to agglomeration, the quality of green and sintered granules improves. In the process of making organic fertilizer from waste, the coating drum plays an essential role to improve the fertilizer’s characteristics. The capacity of our coating drums is 10 ton/h, accommodating various coating types, including liquid, powder, slurries which are especially designed to promote uniform coating of particles and continuous work.
Packing of the Fertilizer
Once the process of making the fertilizer is done, it comes the time for it to be properly packed. For our fertilizer packing we use an automatic robot palletizing application, designed in correspondence with the facility, without any human involvement in the process. Some of the perks of the robot palletizing system are its simple structure and operation, adaptability, improved product quality and consistency, quality of work, as well as production efficiency.
Smart Warehouse Storage
The smart warehouse system we use for storage is efficient because it provides immediate visibility of the product to top management. This enables flexibility, providing the chance to make instant changes. The purpose of the smart warehouse is to reduce the chance for any human mistakes and also increase safety. The taking of orders, counting and storing products are all computerized. By relying on AI and robots, our smart warehouses are error-free, providing the best of service.

Custom Compost Design

The design philosophy behind every compost system revolves around the concept of using a compact footprint to reduce land area and capital costs, and high-speed processing to achieve maximum efficiency.

Agro Scientific offers four different design approaches to meet your facility’s needs.

  1. Aerated Static Pile (ASP) with both above-ground and underground pipes;
  2. Radial ASP (rASP), which uses automatic telescopic conveyors to load the ventilation zones.
  3. Turned Aerated Pile (TAP), rectangular and
  4. Circular Turned Aerated Pile (cTAP) which both provide the fastest composting, combining composting technologies with land area requirements that reduce turning and aeration compared to conventional TAP systems.

Our design team can create a custom compost design that will match your needs and provide optimal results. Agro Scientific can support your civil and mechanical engineers to get the details of your system right the first time.

Compost Consulting

The composting facilities we have created over the years, speak for our experience and expertise. We have over 300,000 tons of compost and organic fertilizer production facility projects per year that effectively compost garden waste, food waste, biosolids and agricultural waste. Up to 1.2 million tons of organic material (organic and digestible waste) are used in the production of organo-mineral fertilizer and compost.

For our customers we create worthy solutions that raise the composting industry to a whole new level. Now you can use our expert advice during your facility design or redesign in order to get the most out of it, both for you as well as the environment. Our green facility plans will help you obtain the economic and environmental goals, while having a well-designed composting system.

Compost Facility Update and Improvement

In time, malfunctions to facilities are often the case. That’s why, there are plenty of facilities that have been in operation for 5 years or more where we have discovered clogged ventilation systems and challenges with drainage, corrosion, odor retention and treatment, wastewater treatment and reuse.

Agro Scientific’s team implements solutions to these challenges, guaranteeing that the project will be operational for up to 25 years. We offer equipment sizing, process flow optimization analysis, biofilter and biofilter media design.
